A license is needed whenever somebody wants to construct or significantly reform a building, apart from the first sentence there if you already have a building you can carry out repairs as long as its not significant as we say.

When we eventually got to this stage, the amount of tiles needed was quite substantial. Some of the batons had to be re-positioned during the process.
We chose a modern tile which was strong and durable and will last for a very long time. We also bought tiles that had been treated to prevent moss and things sticking to them, like a lacquer coating. If the tile was viewable on both sides such as under our back area as above we bought tiles that had color on both sides. For areas where no one is going to see both sides we only bought tiles with one side color only. It made sense and also saved us on money.

It took sometime to do some areas of the roof and i only think it rained once while they were doing the tiling. You can see the contrast between old and new tiles, such a difference for sure. The roof was done in sections so all wasn't exposed at the same time which made sense to be honest.
![A typical Brazilian workman will work in flip flops even up on a roof as can be seen here](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/f520b4_b3e7ac10cd8b4ac9bcd2ccdf0a31fb39~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_960,h_720,al_c,q_85,enc_auto/f520b4_b3e7ac10cd8b4ac9bcd2ccdf0a31fb39~mv2.jpg)
The final picture i want to place is of the roof edging. A typical Brazilian workman will work in flip flops so i thought i would leave those in there for you to see. I'm sure i will get some comments about the quality of the work, but i was happy with it when it was eventually finished, i did have to do a few minor repairs myself though to finish it off a bit better. And at the end of the day it was 100% better than what it was previously.
