Life in Brazil now is somewhat different to a year ago.
The above picture is of the samba drome in Rio De Janeiro. This years carnival was cancelled due to the pandemic, here they were carrying out some vaccinations.
So why is it so bad in Brazil right now?
In my opinion there could be a couple of answers to this question. But like most things its only speculation.
As i live in Brazil the following are the reasons why i think the pandemic is bad in Brazil now
Not everyone has followed the guidelines and been doing social distancing, for example there was numerous places where people went to places to have a party in celebration of the carnival. If just one of these people had the virus many more will have it now, and so on.
Is it possible the vaccination program was a little slow in being implemented.
Many people live in close proximity to each other in various communities throughout Brazil, these tend to be the poorer population.
A vaccination program has started in Brazil with many people over the age of 70 already had at least 1 vaccine shot. There is a 3 week separation between vaccination shots.
People of worried in Brazil of catching this virus, some friends are now in hospital along with many others trying to recover from this.
So please follow the local guidelines what they are saying, maintain social distancing and always wear a mask if you have to leave your home.
